Dr. Raymond J. Ramirez
Raymond J. Ramirez received his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) in 1986 from the University of Illinois. He first worked in an emergency clinic in the Chicago area for a year, then moved to Milwaukee, WI to work in an animal hospital. Two years later, he started doing doing relief (locum tenens) work. He did this for five years in Wisconsin, then relocated to Illinois and continued to do locum tenens for another 13 years. He worked all across Illinois, including Champaign, Springfield, Bloomington, Chicago, and St. Louis.
Living in Central Illinois but working in Chicago or St. Louis every week was draining for both Dr. Ramirez and his family. So in 2007, he purchased Lakeview Veterinary Clinic. Since then, he has updated the systems and continues to keep up-to-date with the latest research and technology to help pets live the best lives they can.
Over his three decades of veterinary experience, Dr. Ramirez has encountered many pets and strives to help them live the best life possible for as long as possible. He speaks at state and regional veterinary conferences. He lives in East Peoria with his wife, children, dog, and cats.
